Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a playgroup session?

Playgroup is 3 hours and 10 minutes long.  Doors open at 9.10am although we have a soft start policy and children can be dropped anytime from 9.10am until 9.30am.  The session finishes at 12.20pm.

At what age can my child start playgroup?

Currently Children can start at aged two years

Can my child stay at playgroup and be funded for their ante-pre or pre-school year?

As long as we are your child’s main childcare provider and they attend at least 3 days a week we are able to apply for funding on your behalf (see below).  Children are usually eligible for funding the term after their third birthday (unless they are born in March or April and they will be funded the following August).

How do I apply for funding?

At the end of the term before your child is eligible for funding the Playgroup administrator will send you a form to complete.  This needs to be returned to the playgroup along with a photocopy of your child’s birth certificate or passport.

What should I do if my child is unwell or cannot attend a session for some reason?

Please contact the playgroup on 01224 867431 at your earliest convenience to advise us of your child’s absence.  If there is no one at playgroup, please leave a message.  This is the best way to inform us of any absence as we cannot guarantee an email or any other type of message will be read before or during the session.

What happens if my child is going to be absent for a while?

Please notify us of any expected long term absence.  We cannot refund fees for this time but you do not need to have your place ‘held’ while you are away.

How do I apply for lunch club?

Lunch club is available on a termly basis for £5.50 a session which is added to your termly fees or £6.50 for an ad hoc session.  There is a sign in sheet in the foyer for either the whole term or ad hoc sessions.
